Project Cleanbrier Celebrates Success

May 9, 2010 No Comments

“For a first year event, I was blown away”, said Greenbrier Chamber executive director Amie Regester about the recent “Project Cleanbrier” earth-day event. “My intention in starting this event was to give our businesses a chance to be leaders in a way that will make our town more attractive-both physically, by picking up litter, and figuratively,by showing people how community oriented Greenbrier is,”said Regester.

Indeed, for a small town the results were impressive. By the end of the work day on April 22nd approximately 150 volunteers had picked up 246 bags of litter and recyclables from 12 miles of Greenbrier area roads. Read the Log Cabin’s coverage online. Special thanks to the GHS East Lab who provided a poster and Public Service Announcements to promote the event, and to the Greenbrier High School faculty and staff for showing such great support for the project. Special thanks to Faulkner County Title for their participation and support!

If you are interested in participating in a task force for next year’s event, please email info@greenbrierchamber.org.
