Q: What’s the name on your birth certificate?

A: Samuel A. Holliman. Actually, the middle name is spelled out, but I’m going to keep that to myself.

Q: How long have you been in this business?

A: Since 1974. My wife Lisa and my business partners Sam & Linda Britton, and Bill & Betty Hartle bought five stores in 2004.

Q: Why the grocery business?

A: I started part time sacking groceries at the Piggly Wiggly in Conway.  I liked it, was pretty good at it and stuck with this as a career.  I’ve always loved working with and meeting new people.

Q: How many employees do you have?

A: 65 at the Greenbrier store, including part-time workers.

Q: What’s your biggest competition?

A: Larger chains in Conway, and there are some local stores that carry a few grocery items.

Q:  Would you ever sell your Greenbrier Store?

A: I suppose every man has his price. Mine’s pretty high.

Q: How has recent legislation affected your business?

A: Well, healthcare issues, insurance, taxes…they all factor in.  We don’t know exactly what the future holds, but we do what we can to adapt.

Q: What makes your business unique?

A: See video
