CASH SAVER: Pricing system proves to be working

June 1, 2011 2 Comments

With a new grocery store in town, just a few miles up the highway, Greenbrier Super Center knew they needed to perfect their game plan in order to continue to compete. So that’s just what store owner Sammy Holliman did.  He checked with his warehouses to see if there was a way to reduce cost and still cover all the necessary expenses.  The answer was yes—and Cash Saver was born!
The weekly grocery price circular boasts better prices and the same quality brands that shoppers are used to. Cash Saver also has limited time extraordinary deals.  Opening week brought cantaloupes at an amazing thirty-seven cents each. The concept is simple.  You pay the cost of the food plus 10%, which goes to taxes, warehouse fees and keeping the store running.  The buyer still comes out ahead, and the store bears the burden of selling more volume. Shoppers will also have noticed a new sign package, brighter store and new cashiers to make sure that customers are well taken care of at check-out.

I caught up with Mr. Holliman to ask about how the new system is working. “The feedback has been mostly positive,” He said.  “Anytime there is change, you have to communicate with customers,” Holliman said of his response to dissention. “We are working hard to make it a good experience for everyone.”

The one thing left on Holliman’s to do list is to get the signage by Highway 65 changed out.  He’s waiting on approval from the Planning Commission to make it official.

We like the look and concept of your store in Greenbrier. We have commercial property in Beebe with over 1300 feet of road frontage adjacent to Highway 64 West. Beebe needs a new grocery store, and we think your store would be a good fit for our area. If you are interested in more information about our site please call us at 501-605-3847 or 501-843-2774, or contact us at the above email address. Thanks,
