Chamber: How long have you been serving customers at The Wagon Wheel ?

Trish: Well, we bought it ’91, but I was not involved full-time.  I’ve probably been full time for about 10 years now.

Chamber:  I’ve seen several restaurant reviews online saying that if you’re traveling on Hwy 65, you need to stop in at WW. Why do you think there is such an interest in the place?

Trish:  I’m not sure it’s any one thing—but we have a family run business that serves great, homestyle food. There are some good recipes here!

Chamber: Your father, Larry, is a character—do you think that has anything to do with WW’s success?

Trish: (Laughing) Definitely.  Dad likes to be involved in the community, likes to talk and tell stories.  He has a lot to do with our success.

Chamber: Tell me about your famous chocolate gravy.

Trish:  Well it’s a recipe that I grew up with.  Mom used to make it for the kids and we decided it was such a great family tradition that we wanted to share it. I know there are quite a few regulars who eat it at least once a week.

Chamber:  Would you ever sell The Wagon Wheel Restaurant?

Trish:  There have been a couple offers, but I can tell you this: It would have to be a whole lot of money.  We love it, we all enjoy what we do, even during the hectic times.

Chamber: Anything else I should know about you or the Wagon Wheel?

Trish: Don’t watch my video—it’s terrible!

The Greenbrier Chamber Of Commerce congratulates Faulkner County’s second recipient of the “Discovering Tomorrow’s Leaders” award, Anna Acre, a Senior at Greenbrier High School. Acre received the award among a gathering of representatives from program sponsors, Chamber of Commerce representatives, Principal Susan Jackson, and Superintendant Scott Spainhour. Robert Zeiler of Chesapeake Energy presented the award. 

 Barbara Lorenz, who has known Acre her whole life, took part in the presentation by reading the nomination form that was used to select Acre as this week’s winner.

 Some of her leadership accomplishments listed on the nomination form are as follows. “Anna has been the President of the FFA for 2 years, Vice President of 4-H for 2 years, and on the Jr. Advisory Board for FFA.  She is attending the Faulkner County Youth Leadership Institute 2010, and was elected 2010 Fair Queen. She received Grand Champion Reserve in 2009. She was chosen to be a Homecoming maid 2 years.  She’s a member of the Greenbrier Parliamentary procedure team that won #1 in Arkansas.  Anna has great leadership skills, is a self-motivated, well grounded, and is very community oriented.”  (To see a clip of Anna and Barbara click here.)

 Acre will be invited to attend a banquet ceremony on November 16th at 6:00 p.m. to celebrate all eight Faulkner County award recipients and she will also be entered into a drawing to win a personal laptop computer.

Greenbrier High School will also benefit from Acre’s leadership. They will receive a desktop computer for one of their classrooms.

The Greenbrier Chamber Of Commerce congratulates Faulkner County’s first recipient of the “Discovering Tomorrow’s Leaders” award– Hunter Burnett, a Senior at St. Joseph High School in Conway. 

Burnett humbly recieved the award among a gathering of family and friends this afternoon in front of  St. Joseph’s administration building. The presentation of the award, by Robert Zeiler of Chesapeake Energy, was brief, but lively, as many of Burnett’s classmates errupted into cheers as they came out to support him. Principal Joe Mallett also congratulated Burnett on his achievement, saying,  ”What you’ve seen here is just the kind of person Hunter is–involved, celebrated by his peers, and definitely a leader. I’m glad we were able to recognize that today.”

Burnett will be invited to attend a banquet ceremony in eight weeks to celebrate all eight Faulkner County award recipients and he will also be entered into a drawing to win a personal laptop  computer.

A: I wanted to help my sisters in the community achieve their health and weight loss goals.

Q: What’s your biggest challenge?

A: Helping clients get over procrastination and get motivated!

Q:  How do you see your business growing in the next 5 years?

A: We’d like to get big enough to move into a larger building. We’d probably need at least 2 additional trainers to accomplish that.

Q: How has recent legislation affected your business?

A:  Health benefits have been cut, especially for our seniors.  That makes it difficult for some to afford our specialty program—Silver Sneakers.

Q: What makes your business unique?

A: We are fun, fast, easy and safe!
