Congratulations to Christy Corker, the 2024 Volunteer of the Year. Since 2009 Corker has been behind the scenes volunteering with countless school organizations and spearheaded the annual Greenbrier Public School’s Annual Fall Festival. Under her leadership, PTO has successfully grossed over 1.5 million dollars in fundraising efforts through the years. Corker is also heavily involved with her church ministry. You can also find her serving Kona Ice at many different events in town. When asked, “What is your WHY? Why do you enjoy volunteering?” She shares, “If you see a need, just get involved and help out. Seeing the kids faces light up really brings me joy. From the chocolate that they sell, to the Fall Festival Coronation practice, it gives me great joy seeing their joy.”
