Miss Greenbrier Marks 10th Anniversary with Scholarships, Service, and More Than 1,200 Boxes of Cereal Collected

Greenbrier, Ark. (Saturday, April 4, 2026) — The 10th Annual Miss Greenbrier Pageant was a spectacular celebration of confidence, poise, and community spirit as contestants took the stage at the Greenbrier High School Fine Arts Center.

Proudly sponsored by Daisy-A-Day and the Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce, the open pageant is held each spring and continues to be a cherished local tradition. This year’s contestants radiated grace and charm as they competed for the distinguished Miss Greenbrier titles.

In addition to the pageant competition, contestants and their families took part in a friendly cereal drive benefiting the Greenbrier School District. Cereal is an especially valuable donation for school food pantries because it is kid-friendly, easy to prepare, versatile, and shelf-stable. Donations like these help provide students with a simple, nutritious start to the day, supporting both focus and academic performance. This year, more than 1,200 boxes of cereal were collected and distributed across the district.

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton made a significant impact by sponsoring the program and awarding Miss Greenbrier, Gretchen Waggoner, a $1,000 scholarship. First Service Bank also awarded Miss Greenbrier a $500 scholarship. These generous contributions reflect a meaningful investment in the education, leadership, and future aspirations of the contestants.

Gretchen Waggoner shared, “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be the 2026 Miss Greenbrier. I have wanted to win since I first stepped on that stage at age 15. I learned how to interview there, and each year I have improved. Taking home this title means so much to me. I have worked for years to earn it, and I am excited to represent Greenbrier over the next year.”

Gretchen is a senior at Quitman High School. She is a state champion senior girls basketball manager and is involved in cross country, track, Beta Club, Sea Camp Dive Club, Building Trades, FFA, and Girls State, where she served as a senator. She plans to attend college and pursue a career as a marine conservation lawyer.
