Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce Celebrates 2026 Award Winners and Community at Annual Event

The Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce celebrated local leadership, service, and business excellence at its 2026 Annual Banquet, a vintage casino themed evening that kicked off with a special Elvis impersonator performance, table game play, and a silent auction. “This event is one of our favorite nights of the year because it gives us the opportunity to pause and celebrate the people who have, and continue to “Bet on the ‘Brier,” said Ashton Pruitt, president of the Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce. “This year’s theme was fun, but the message behind it was meaningful: betting on Greenbrier is a bet worth making.”

The Chamber recognized the following 2026 award recipients:

New Business of the Year: Camino Real Mexican Restaurant

Small Business of the Year: Grace and Company Marketplace

Business of the Year: In Sync Counseling

Nonprofit of the Year: The Greenbrier Area Arts Council

Community Foundation Chamber Endowment Fund Scholarship Recipient: Chandler Williams

Student of the Year: Lily Beth Hill

Mayor’s XM Award: Freddie Mark Wilcox

Among the evening’s highest honors was the recognition of Dr. Russell Everett as the Chamber’s 2026 Volunteer of the Year. Everett was honored for decades of service to Greenbrier youth and families, especially through his leadership and volunteer work with the Greenbrier Soccer Club. His long-standing commitment, mentorship, and investment in young people have made a lasting impact on the community and reflect the very spirit of volunteerism the Chamber seeks to celebrate.

The Chamber also recognized Hunter Thrasher as its 2026 Citizen of the Year, one of the organization’s most prestigious awards. This recognition is given to an individual whose leadership, service, and commitment have made a significant and lasting difference in Greenbrier. Thrasher was honored for the ways he has invested his time, talent, and heart into the community, setting an example of civic leadership and service.

The banquet also highlighted the long-term commitment of Chamber members through a special “Bet on the ’Brier” recognition, honoring businesses and organizations whose investment in Greenbrier has spanned decades.

Those recognized for 30+ years of Chamber membership included:
American Drug,
Ott Insurance,

, Zellner’s Appliance & TV,

“These long-standing members helped build the foundation of the community we celebrate today,” said Pruitt. “Their continued support, leadership, and belief in Greenbrier have made a lasting difference.”

Throughout the evening, the Chamber emphasized its ongoing mission to support local business, strengthen community partnerships, and invest in the future of Greenbrier. “The people and organizations recognized at this year’s banquet reflect the heart of our community,” Pruitt said. “They lead, serve, create opportunities, and inspire others. We are proud to celebrate them and grateful for the role they play in making Greenbrier stronger.”
