The Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Camino Real Mexican Restaurant has been named the 2026 New Business of the Year! This recognition celebrates the business success, heart, hospitality, and commitment to community.
General Manager Alma Bravo and her team at Camino Real chose Greenbrier intentionally. “The decision was made to open in Greenbrier because of the community,” Alma shared. “The feel of a small town is what we wanted for our business. Everybody knows everybody.” That sense of connection has become the foundation of the restaurant’s success.
Since opening its doors, Camino Real has set itself apart by offering more than the expected. While guests can certainly enjoy classic favorites, the restaurant has built a loyal following by introducing unique entrées and appetizers not commonly found at a typical Mexican restaurant. Freshly made recipes, consistent quality, and creative menu options have helped transform first time visitors into regulars.

Alma notes that one of the biggest hurdles early on was simply encouraging people to try something new. “Getting people to try us out just one time and realizing we are not your typical Mexican restaurant” made all the difference. That first visit often leads to many more.
With a dedicated team of 10 employees, Camino Real thrives because of its people. Alma credits the entire staff to their success, from the hardworking kitchen crew to the friendly front-of-house team. They are all responsible for creating the warm and welcoming experience customers have come to expect. She also recognizes Manager Fernando Guerrero for his leadership and the strong culture he has helped build within the restaurant.
Beyond daily dining, Camino Real is expanding the way the community thinks about Mexican cuisine. “Not many people think about Mexican restaurants for catering,” Alma says. “We are more than tacos and fajitas! We all love them, but we can do so much more.” Their catering offerings continue to grow, providing fresh and flavorful options for events, meetings, and celebrations throughout the area.

Looking ahead, Alma is focused on deepening community partnerships. She hopes to become more involved with local schools and collaborate with the city in meaningful ways. That commitment to service aligns perfectly with what the Small Business of the Year award represents. We are excited the Camino Real team is investing in their future here.
