For two years now, Sunshine ABA has seen tremendous growth and already has been serving communities across central Arkansas with outpatient therapy in the home, school, and community. Sunshine ABA Therapy serves children 2 years up to 21 years old. They also do school based support, where educational institutions can contract their services for behavioral assessments, support and trainings for staff. With more than 10 members on her team, owner Sharady Richardson helps provide quality naturalistic applied behavior analysis to the area. The Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce gathered to give them a Green Ribbon Welcome and celebrate their administration office, located in the heart of Greenbrier.
"I've always had a love for individuals with special needs and in high school I was a nanny for a young boy with autism, working with him helped develop that love" shares Richardson, which is why she chose to go into this field. Richardson is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst who earned a Masters Degree in Psychology with emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis at Capella University. She has three years of experience in pediatric and young adult applied behavior analysis therapy.
What began with telehealth and virtual services, quickly grew to other neighboring communities. Recently, they began a clinical partnership with Ouachita Baptist University for field work placement for students in their master's program.
When considering their services, they share: "We understand receiving a diagnosis of autism can be overwhelming, that’s exactly why we strive to create a team of advocates full of support for your family and your ray of sunshine! We want to create an environment of trust and transparency between all stakeholders in your child’s life in pursuit of providing the most beneficial treatment. Sunshine offers parent and family training as a part of our treatment approach to ensure each family has the utmost support needed. We also offer monthly family meetings for all our client’s families as a chance to interact with others in our community who also have a child with ASD. Each registered behavior technician is trained to utilize ABA techniques in a fun, engaging, and naturalistic manner across many settings so your child can thrive in all their environments!"
