The Chamber Welcomes Momma Mytar's to Greenbrier

It’s pretty obvious that Wendy Mytar has came a long way from “hating to bake.” This mother of 6, is originally from Springfield, IL and moved to the community a couple of years ago because of our excellent schools. She now bakes every day and is striving to put sweets and treats into the hands of citizens in Greenbrier. “No, really that is true. I used to hate to bake," shares Wendy. She adds that she has came a long way in her baking journey. When asked what made her actually start to enjoy baking and taking this career path she shares that she went to pick up her son’s birthday cake at a grocery store in their old hometown and it was far from her expectations. It was so awful that she cried at the bakery. She then was determined to learn how to bake cakes for herself and her friends and family. That led to bigger projects and eventually wanting to own her own business. When this opportunity presented itself, it was too good to not pass up so she thought, "Let's do this! I'm going to go for it!" Mytar is self taught in the kitchen. She prides herself that her cinnamon rolls and cobblers are a hot commodity along with her panini sandwiches and broccoli and cheese soup. She jokes, "I have 6 kids, that is just what I do! I cook!"

Momma Mytar’s Desserts & Cafe is open Tuesday through Saturday 6 AM to 7 PM and Sunday noon to 5 PM. They are located at 294 South Broadview Suite 1. Her hopes for the future are to have a bigger building and continue to give back to the community. The Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce welcomes Momma Mytar’s.
