The Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce celebrates Presley Roberts as your 2022 Student of the Year!

The Chamber’s 2022 Student of the Year is Greenbrier High School senior, Presley Roberts. She is a well-rounded student with high academic scores, accolades in sports, and abundant extra-curricular activities, but above all that it she is known for her genuine and humble character.

Presley’s high academic achievement is seen in her cumulative GPA of 4.26. This places her class ranking as number five out of a class of 255 students. She has taken advanced placement and honors courses and will earn a total of 41 concurrent credit hours by the time she graduates.

Presley will also be graduating as one of the most decorated female track athletes that Greenbrier High School has ever had. Her athletic accolades include multiple all conference awards, 2020 indoor state champion in the 800m run, 2019 conference champion in the 800m run, and qualifier for Arkansas Meet of Champs. Her coaches report that she is one of the most dedicated and hard-working athletes they have ever had the opportunity to coach and one of the best people to be around. This work ethic and achievement have allowed Presley to continue on to be a collegiate athlete as well. She has signed a national letter of intent to Ouachita Baptist University where she will compete with the Tigers’ track team.

Greenbrier’s FFA chapter is another place in which Presley excels. She helps to organize chapter events including student outreach and community service. She is also a member of the state champion FFA Parliamentary Leadership team, lamb show team, and veterinary science competition team. As a homecoming queen, one might not expect that Presley is the lead senior student aid for Ag Mechanics, where she shares her expertise and skill in welding, woodworking, plumbing, and other hands-on career skills.

Though Presley is extremely accomplished, her biggest impact is the way she encourages and lifts up her teammates and peers. The counselors at GHS said, “Other students look to her as an academic and character model because she is a strong, intelligent, and dependable young lady that carries herself with grace, maturity, and humility far beyond her years.” The Chamber is honored to give the Student of the Year award to someone so deserving. Congratulations, Presley!
